Our 1st Workshop of the Year!
Our first workshop of the year is a Stripology Table Runner designed by Zina Clark. Zina discovered quilting at 23 while living in her native Iceland, and what started as a creative outlet quickly turned into a lifelong journey. Before long, she launched Iceland’s first online quilt shop and began designing patterns that mixed traditional ideas with a fresh, modern twist. After moving to Minnesota, GE Designs was launched. From her cozy studio she spent years designing patterns, publishing books, and creating tools that make quilting faster, easier, and a lot more fun. When she designed the first Stripology ruler, she knew there had to be a better way to cut fabric and save time. That innovation sparked a whole line of tools, including the GEasy tools, all designed to help quilters like you skip the frustration and get straight to the joy of creating.
In this workshop Zina will guide us through the Stripology technique to create a beautiful table runner.

Presidents' Ramblings
Our 2026 Quilt Show is now part of guild history—and what a wonderful show it was! To everyone who shared quilts, volunteered countless hours organizing, hanging quilts, greeting guests, or working during the show, Margie and Peggy extend a heartfelt thank you. Your creativity, energy, and teamwork made this event truly special.
We would also like to give special recognition to Nancy for her years of dedication and hard work coordinating not only this year’s show, but so many before it. Her talent for organizing every detail and keeping us all on track is a huge part of what makes our quilt show so unique and successful. Thank you, Nancy, for everything you do for our guild.
“My Passion for All Things Tilda” gave us a delightful and inspiring glimpse into the colorful world of Tilda fabrics and designs. How many of you are already planning your next Tilda purchase? The good news is that Linda Nitzen has promised to return to a future guild meeting with her pop-up store, so we can all look forward to another Tilda extravaganza!
With school ending, summer vacations beginning, and plenty of quilting ahead, what could be better? Cindy has arranged three exciting summer workshops that sound like great fun and inspiration for everyone. Be sure to check them out on the Los Angeles County Quilters Guild website.
And don’t forget—decorating your tables adds color, creativity, and whimsy to our meetings. Since June celebrates Father’s Day, bring along your favorite “Dad” quilts to share with the guild.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the 17th!
Margie and Peggy
