Our 1st Workshop of the Year!
Jennifer Wagner – Reverse Applique & Trunk Show — Jen Wagner, a quilt pattern writer and quilting instructor who loves morning coffee out on the patio. In the spring of 2022, she launched Snapdragon Quilting with a clear mission: to ignite creativity and bolster confidence in quilters of all skill levels by creating quilt patterns make sense and courses and workshops that dive deep into a myriad of quilt making skills. Her quilt patterns use bold design, lots of color and a blend of modern and traditional techniques. When she’s not quilting, you’ll find her outside. She loves golfing, hiking, swimming, skiing, biking, and gardening.
She will also have a pop-up shop at the Wednesday guild meeting.
Presidents' Ramblings
One of the highlights of our July meeting was seeing everyone’s “First” quilt alongside some of their “Oldest” quilts. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane and a reminder of how much we’ve all grown as quilters over the years. Guild members also reviewed a proposed revision to Article 7 of the Standing Rules, which outlines the responsibilities of the Newsletter and Mailing Chairperson. The revision authorizes the Executive Board to implement a fee for members who choose to receive the newsletter by mail. After discussion, the membership approved the revision. Printed copies were distributed at the July meeting and will also be available at our August meeting. At this time the Executive Board is still collecting information on the cost of printing the newsletter and has not made a decision on implementing the additional fee.
Margie, Cindy, and Peggy represented our guild at the recent Presidents’ Roundtable, an informal gathering where guild leaders and members share ideas, discuss common challenges, and exchange information about upcoming events. One of the main topics was the proposed Threads of the Games project. The participating guilds agreed that more information is needed before committing financial support. We will keep the membership advised as more details become available. In the meantime, we are moving forward with a quilt to be a part of this project.

We’re also pleased to once again take part in the Stuff the Bus school supply drive. As you prepare for our August meeting, please consider bringing new school supplies to donate. Your generosity helps local students start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Suggested items are:

As summer begins to wind down, let’s celebrate the season one more time! For our August meeting, decorate your tables with a Summer Fun theme—or, with students heading back to class, a Back-to-School theme would be just as fitting. We can’t wait to see your creative ideas.
