Helping Our Community

Each year, our members stitch love, and kindness into every creation—donating quilts, pillowcases, animal beds, school supplies, and toys to bring warmth and comfort to those who need it most.

In 2025 we have donated 185 quilts, 79 pillowcases and 15 animal beds. We have partnered with:

Walking with Moms in Need  is a nationwide program sponsored by the Catholic Church, to increase support for pregnant and parenting mothers in need. In conjunction with St. Pancratius Church of Lakewood LACQG has donated quilts, pillowcases and other baby items to Moms in need.

Threads of Hope

The Legacy Church of Downey has started a Threads of Hope group to provide handmade items to children in the Oncology Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. LACQG has donated quilts and pillowcases to brighten the day of the children in the oncology ward.

Dolores Mission

Dolores Mission is a Catholic parish in Boyle Heights that provides a homeless shelter for men and a smaller shelter for older women.  We have donated quilts for women who are transitioning out of the shelter into permanent housing.

Southern California Fire Survivors

In conjunction with the Southern California Council of Quilt Guilds, LACQG donated quilts for survivors of the devasting wildfires in Southern California.

Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE)

stuff the bus donationsweg

LACOE annually sponsors a Stuff the Bus initiative to provide school supplies to children in need.  LACQG supported this initiative with note paper, pencils, crayons and other much-needed supplies.
